Mytikas is the highest peak of Mount Olympus, Greece's second highest in the Balkans. Until recently, the height was about 2917m., But more recent measurements made by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki calculate the height to 2918 feet and 8 inches.

The Mytikas is a curved top, and with the Crown, the third highest peak, forming two sides of a triangle. This means that it can hardly be compared with the eye the two peaks.

The peak of Olympus as a mountaineering challenge, is among the toughest peaks in Greece. The paths (are two) leading to Mytikas belong to the European path E4, and so are generally good condition. At the beginning of each are nearly three out of four shelters on Mount Olympus, two at 2.700m. (C. Apostolidis, C. Kakkalos) and shelter 'Spilios Agapitos' to 2.200m.

O Mytikas is also known as the throne of Zeus, being the highest peak in Olympus, while the Crown as a House of the Gods. Despite the fact that the Mytikas are taller, it is easier to climb to Mytika than the Crown, which requires climbing experience.
